Quick Overview of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex (DFW):

Area Terminology:
People in the area use the terms “Metroplex“, “DFW“, and “North Texas” interchangeably. However, North Texas refers to a much larger area that includes rural counties along the northern border. (In actuality, North Texas is the northern part of the central portion of Texas but doesn’t include the Panhandle of Texas.)

Business Climate:
The DFW Metroplex (the largest metro area in Texas) encompasses about 200 incorporated cities and towns. According to Wikipedia, as of 2020, Dallas–Fort Worth is home to 24 Fortune 500 companies, the third-largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies in the United States behind New York City (70) and Chicago (34). In the most recent years, the Metroplex has attracted many large companies such as Toyota, State Farm, JP Morgan Chase and Core-mark.

Education:
The Dallas–Fort Worth area comprises the highest concentration of colleges and universities in Texas. Continuing education options are plentiful. There are half a dozen public universities, 15 private universities and another 15 community colleges as well as 10 career-based institutions.

Sports:
Are company events important to your business? Sports are very popular here as the area is home to teams in six major sports and many minor league teams.

Transportation:
